Dundee Beach or fondly called ‘Dundee’ is nestled along the pristine Northern Territory coastline about a 1.5-hour easy drive from the city of Darwin. The main roads to Dundee Beach are sealed and 2wd accessible. They will take you through the scenic landscape of the Top End.

Dundee Beach has a variety of activities to enjoy during your stay.

Camping, fishing and relaxing are the main activities while at Dundee. It’s a pretty laid back place and you can’t help but go with the flow while here.

Take leisurely strolls along the sandy shores, cast your line for some fantastic fishing, and explore the stunning beaches and cliffs that dot the coastline.

Turtles nest along the white sandy beaches and at the right time of year you can see the hatchings return to the ocean.

Venture to the nearby Finniss River Station and discover the mysterious magnetic termite mounds that grace the landscape. 

Why not take a look around Bynoe with Northern Territory Airboats. Enjoy a guide airboat tour around the flood plains and billabong. The kids (and big kids!) will love it!

What's In Dundee Beach?

Dundee Beach is still a bit of a hidden gem, but it’s got all the essentials.

  • The Dundee Beach Social and Recreation Club. Join the friendly locals on Friday & Sunday nights. Everyone is welcome for great meals and drinks. Fantastic kids play ground and Live music once a month.
  • The Dundee Beach Tavern formally known as The Lodge of Dundee, is great for pub-style meals and drinks, along with ice, fuel, and a small shop.
  • Phone reception is Telstra only and Starlink works great in our campsites.
  • Dundee Beauty Services you can even treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment from Dow.
  • Closest major supermarket is Coolalinga, Palmerston, Humpty Doo. There is an IGA at Berry Springs.

Where to Fish at Dundee?

If you’re eager to explore the coastline further, local boat hire options are readily available, providing you with the means to embark on your fishing adventure. You can also access a variety of beaches with a 4wd vehicle. Land based fishing from the beach and rocks is also an option to get amongst the fishing action. The are rocks and a rock wall to fish off right near the boat ramp. Ask us when you stay about other ‘secret spots’.
